I'm often asked how to get involved in politics. The question comes out of exasperation and even desperation over political differences. "How can I make a difference" is the question people most often ask.
As a believer in grassroots politics, attending your precinct meeting is one of the most effective ways, not only to be involved, but also to make a difference. We know that government is of the people, by the people and for the people, and so is the function of the Republican Party. The precinct meeting is the foundation of grassroots campaigning and is the place where political policies and principles are forged.
The vast majority of Republican voters have never attended a precinct meeting or a county or state convention. I say that not as an indictment but as an encouragement to ask you to get involved this year. If you really want to "make a difference" the Precinct is the place to do so. This is where policies and platforms are initiated and is the best example of government of, by, and for the people.
Over the next few weeks, Precinct meetings will be held all over the state. Whether you are a long time Precinct leader, an activist or a first time attendee, I encourage you to get involved this year and be a part of the Republican solution.
Go to my website www.RandyBrogdon.com or contact your county chairman to find out where your meeting is going to be held. This is your opportunity to "make a difference."
